Children in Sierra Leone classroom
About Us

Educating Young Minds Through Partnership

The United Kingdom Sierra Leone Partnership (UKSLP) is a community-driven charity that supports education by linking schools in Sierra Leone with partner schools in the UK. Together, we share ideas, build understanding, and create opportunities for children to learn in safe and nurturing environments. Our approach is built on self-help, sustainability, and community involvement.

Who We Are

We are currently supporting four schools — one in Kenema District (KDC Bana-konta) and three in Kambia District (KDC Robat, KDC Tawuya, and Kychum). Many of these schools operate with limited resources, and our goal is to help create healthy environments for effective teaching and learning. We provide access to clean water, solar lighting, toilet facilities, and school gardens, helping both pupils and teachers thrive in safe, community-led spaces.

Our Mission

Our mission is to strengthen education through partnership and self-reliance. By pairing schools in Sierra Leone with schools in the UK, we encourage cultural exchange, mutual learning, and community empowerment. We aim to equip schools with basic facilities and support initiatives like school gardens and libraries to improve children’s education and wellbeing.

Our Vision

We envision a future where every child in Sierra Leone learns in a safe, supportive, and sustainable environment. Through collaboration with UK schools, we hope to inspire empathy, understanding, and shared responsibility among children in both nations. Our long-term vision is to help communities build schools that grow with them — fostering independence, opportunity, and hope for generations to come.

What We Do

Educating Young Minds Through Partnership

The United Kingdom Sierra Leone Partnership (UKSLP) supports four schools — three in Kambia District and one in Kenema — by creating a safe, healthy, and sustainable learning environment for children. Our work connects schools in Sierra Leone with partner schools in the UK to foster education, cultural exchange, and community growth.

We help provide essential facilities such as clean water, toilet blocks, and solar lighting where possible — ensuring every child can learn in safety and comfort.

Our schools cultivate small farms and gardens, teaching children sustainable agriculture while providing food for students and the wider community.

Each partner school dedicates space for a library — a hub for reading, creativity, and discovery. We aim to inspire lifelong learning.

We connect schools in Sierra Leone with partner schools in the UK to promote cultural exchange, shared learning, and mutual understanding between pupils and teachers.

Join the Partnership

Building Education Through Collaboration

We welcome schools that are committed to helping children thrive through teamwork, sustainability, and self-help.
